You’ll be great in this role if you have…

  • A current Australian ATPL or Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) and passes in all Australian ATPL theory subjects
  • Australian Instrument Rating with MEA, IAP 2D and IAP 3D endorsement
  • English language proficiency Level 6
  • A valid Australian Class 1 Medical Certificate
  • MCC Certificate
  • Have the following relevant experience:
    • Have a minimum total flight time of 500 hours with 300 hours in command of a powered fixed wing aircraft (excluding ICUS), that includes 200 hours in command of a multi engine aircraft (excluding ICUS), or
    • Have a minimum total flight time of 500 hours with 300 hours in command of a turbine powered fixed wing aircraft, or
    • Have a minimum total flight time of 500 hours on aircraft certified for operation by a crew of at least 2 pilots (multi-crew aircraft).

As we emerge from the pandemic, the outlook for our domestic and international flying is very strong and our teams are excited to welcome our new A321neo LRs as we continue on our mission to offer all day, every day low fares so more people can fly to more places, more often.

2023 promises to be a big year for Jetstar as we continue to grow our Pilot workforce.  As a result, we are now taking expressions of interest for our A320/1.

To be eligible for consideration you must meet the following requirements:

  • 1500 hours total aeronautical experience
  • 500 hours PIC or FO on multi-engine aircraft
  • 250 hours PIC time of which 180 hours may be PICUS
  • An Australian ATPL (A) or an Australian CPL (A) with passes in all Australian ATPL Theory subjects
  • Australian Multi-Engine Aeroplane Instrument Rating with 2D and 3D endorsements
  • Current CASA Class 1 medical
  • ICAO English Language Proficiency Level 6
  • A current passport with unrestricted access to all Jetstar ports of call with at least 12 months validity
  • Experience in a multi-crew operation or successful completion of a multi-crew cooperation course
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment medical
  • The ability to pass a Drug and Alcohol Test
  • The ability to hold an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC)
  • Vaccination against COVID-19 is required for this position
  • Hold, or be eligible to hold, relevant Australian permanent residency status or an unrestricted right to work in Australia

Additionally, the following qualifications & experience are considered an advantage:

  • A320/1 Type Rating or an Airbus family Type Rating (A330/340/350/380)
  • Experience on an Airbus type in airline operations
  • Recent experience on an airline jet type, preferably Airbus

PC12 NTR Captain Royal Flying Doctor Service

Reporting to the Head of Flying Operations, we are currently seeking several Pilots to join our lifesaving team on a full-time basis with the next ground school commencing July/August. These roles will be based at Port Hedland or Meekathara where you and the clinical team will be tasked with the retrieval of patients.

About you

As a Pilot in our PC12 fleet, you will possess a Commercial Pilot License with a minimum of 1500 hours Total Time, hold a SEA instrument rating with at least two IPCs and 100 hours of both night flying and Instrument Flight Time (IFR). You will have a keen sense of adventure, be able to work in small teams, be agile in your approach, dedicated to the job and focused on the task at hand.

As a valued team member who supports our 24/7 operations, you will need to work different shifts across weekdays, weekends and public holidays on both day and night shifts.

Single Pilot and/or Aeromedical experience will be highly advantageous.

About the role

Operational duties associated with the preparation for and conduct of a flight, including normal refueling, completion of statutory and RFDS documentation associated with a flight, assisting in the loading and unloading of patients and handling of luggage and/or cargo
Flight planning and administration including preparation and maintenance of standard flight plans and data input, and preparation and maintenance of an airfield register where necessary
Replenishing aircraft with supplemental and medical oxygen
Participation in activities relating to occupational health and safety and Safety and Quality Management System
Performing post-flight cleaning of cowls, oleos and windscreens
Hangaring aircraft where required for aircraft security

The mission of the Royal Flying Doctor Service (Western Operations) is to provide excellence in aeromedical and primary health care across Western Australia. Every member of the RFDS WO team contributes to that mission and living our values of showing respect, demonstrating fairness, utilising diversity and being safe. Every year, the RFDS WO provides urgent retrieval for about 10,000 patients in regional WA.
