Preference will be given to candidates with qualifications and experience beyond the basic requirements.   Multi-engine, multi crew, internal WestJet experience, total time greater than 1000 hours and graduation from one of our partnerships schools are considered assets.

WestJet Encore supports a Pilot-in-Command Under Supervision (PICUS) program for First Officers who hold a CPL to accrue PICUS flight time and experience. First Officers may carry out 200 hours in an Encore aircraft for a maximum credit of 100 hours PICUS towards ATPL requirements as detailed in CAR 421.11.

What You’ll Do:

  • Ensuring that safety is the primary objective by adhering to the Sunwing safety policy and utilizing the appropriate safety reporting program in order to identify and communicate all known hazards and risks to the organization.
  • During the course of duty, Pilots are expected to conduct themselves in accordance with company policies and government regulations.
  • Assist with flight planning and any other preparations for flight as required by Company Policies.

Position Overview

  • Providing the Chief Pilot with any updated information regarding the safety of the flight.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications

 

  • Must have a minimum of 5,000 hours total time (fixed-wing)
  • 500+ PIC hours on jet aircraft above 75 000 pounds, or 1000+ hours on B737NG/MAX (B73C)
  • Must be able to travel unrestricted to and from the United States
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC)
  • Valid Transport Canada Airline Transport Pilot’s License (ATPL)
  • Valid Category 1 medical
  • Must have English and/or French language proficiency
  • Clear background and criminal record checks

 

Salary Range: From $114,528.00 to $169,334.40 as per Collective Agreement

Hours: Minimum monthly guarantee of 80 flying credits, and eligible for overtime after 85 hours
