Job Description includes ( but are not limited to):

Being responsible for the safety and security of all crew members, passengers and cargo on board.

Being responsible for the operation and safety of the aircraft from the moment the aircraft is first ready to move for the purpose of taxiing prior to take-off until the moment it finally comes to rest at the end of the flight and the engine(s) used as primary propulsion units are shut down;

Having authority to disembark any person, or any part of the cargo, which, in his opinion, may represent a potential hazard to the safety of the aircraft or its occupants;

Ensuring that all crew comply with all operational checklists prior to, during and after all phases of flight operations, and in abnormal and emergency situations

Ensuring the proper implementation and application of the manufacture provided procedures and checklist approved for use by Etihad Airways.

The commander or the pilot to whom conduct of the flight has been delegated shall, in an emergency situation that requires immediate decision and action, take any action he considers necessary under the circumstances. In such cases he may deviate from rules, operational procedures and methods in the interest of safety.

Job Purpose

  • At stations without qualified personnel, checks the fuel type and supervises the fueling of the aircraft, ensuring proper distribution of fuel.
  • Alerts the Captain of any irregularities or unfavorable variables that may affect safety
  • Keeps himself/herself up to date with the legal requirements of the different regulatory bodies such as, civil aviation authority, Airbus Company and any other relevant regulatory body relating to flights and Flight Crew.
  • Assists the Captain in completing the necessary records and reports such as the voyage report and aircraft flight log, safety and discretion reports. Deposits the flight envelops in the designated secure place post each conducted flight.

Qualifications (Academic, training, languages)

  • Appropriate ATPL/ Frozen ATPL License with valid A320 ratings.
  • GCAA license will be preferred.

To become one of our A380 Captains, you will need a minimum of 7000 hrs total flying time multi- crew, multi- engine (only time in the operating seat of a turboprop and/or turbojet aircraft can be counted; not simulator time).
On top of this you will need to have:

  • Minimum of 3000 hours recent Command on Airbus FBW Wide Body from the following types (A340/A350/380)
  • Flown at least 150 hrs in command within the last 12 months at time of joining
  • A valid ICAO ATPL with an unrestricted class one medical
  • Fluency in English, equivalent to ICAO English level 5 or above

Emirates Passenger – A380 

Contract type:
Open-ended

Roster Pattern:
Full monthly roster with minimum 8 days off

Annual Hours:
800 – 900

Routes:
* 24-hour operation
* Mix of turnarounds, long haul and ultra long haul
* Trips are single or multi sector and can be 1-9 days in duration
* Layover periods are generally 24-48 hours
* Days off are in Dubai

Pay & Benefits

Basic salary + flying pay per month:
AED 43650 (~ USD 11884) based on avg. 85 hrs / month

Accommodation Options per month:

B). Accommodation Allowance of AED 20000 (~USD 5445)

Education Allowance

Productivity pay:
AED 730 (~ USD 199) for each block hour above monthly target
