About MEHAIR
MEHAIR has been operating seaplanes in India since 2011 and has been awarded routes in the UDAN program of the Govt of India. Launched in 2016 by the Narendra Modi Govt, the UDAN scheme aims to provide air connectivity to hitherto unserved and underserved areas through a policy to support air operators with strong viability gap funding. The policy provides a major push for seaplane services as these services make airports redundant thus cutting down on capital expenditure as well as the gestation periods for heavy aviation infrastructure. MEHAIR is at the forefront of this opportunity and is moving rapidly towards a pan-India seaplane presence with conventional as well as electric seaplanes.
