Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about bestpilotjobs — for pilots and employers.
For pilots
Is bestpilotjobs free for pilots?
Yes, completely. Browsing jobs, reading listings, applying, and registering for roadshows are all free. No account needed. Browse all current vacancies →
Do I need to create an account to apply?
No. Click Apply now on any job listing and you go directly to the employer's careers page or contact email. Click Register on a roadshow and you go directly to the airline's own registration page.
What is a pilot recruitment roadshow?
A roadshow is an in-person recruitment event where an airline comes to a city to meet pilots face to face. They discuss open positions, fleet, career pathways, and packages. Each roadshow is for one city and one venue — airlines post a separate announcement per city. Roadshows are listed on our roadshows page with full details — city, date, open roles, and a direct registration link.
How do I set up job alerts?
Visit the job alerts page, enter your email, and choose your role and region. You'll also be notified when new roadshows are announced. Unsubscribe anytime with one click.
How often are new jobs and roadshows posted?
New listings are posted as employers submit them. We recommend you set up a job alert so you're notified immediately when a matching vacancy or roadshow appears.
Are all jobs genuine?
Yes. Paid listings require payment before going live. Free listings are reviewed manually by our team before publication. We remove anything that doesn't meet our standards — no scams, no fee-charging employers, no non-aviation roles.
What does Type-Rated / Non Type-Rated mean?
Type-Rated means the employer requires you to already hold a type rating for the aircraft. Non Type-Rated means they are open to candidates without the rating and may provide training or a training bond. Browse Captain vacancies, First Officer vacancies or Instructor vacancies and filter by type rating requirement.
For employers
What can I post on bestpilotjobs?
Two things: post a job listing to advertise a specific vacancy, or announce a roadshow for an in-person pilot recruitment event.
What are the job listing plans?
Three plans: Free (€0 — 30-day listing, reviewed before going live, listed below Standard & Featured jobs, no logo, no alert emails, corporate email required, one per domain per month), Standard (€99 — 60-day listing, logo, job alert email blast to subscribers, listed above Free jobs, live within 24h of payment), and Featured (€299 — 120-day listing, pinned to top, homepage placement, logo, alert emails, includes 1 free Standard roadshow announcement). See the full pricing breakdown →
What are the roadshow announcement plans?
Two plans: Standard €199 — 1 roadshow announcement, you choose your date, listed on /roadshows, email blast to all subscribers, Google Events schema. Featured €399 — 3 roadshow announcements, you choose your dates, pinned to top of listings, homepage placement, email blast to all subscribers. No time limits — use your announcements whenever suits your recruitment calendar. Featured job plan (€299) includes 1 free Standard roadshow announcement.
How quickly does my listing go live?
Free listings go live after manual review — typically within 24–48 hours. Paid listings go live within 24 hours of payment confirmation. Google Jobs indexing (for job listings) and Google Events indexing (for roadshows) typically follow within 2–6 hours of going live.
What is the free plan and who is it for?
The Free plan lets any legitimate aviation employer post one job listing per month at no cost, for 30 days. It requires a corporate email address — free providers like Gmail, Hotmail, ProtonMail and Yahoo are not accepted. Free listings are reviewed by our team before going live. They appear below Standard and Featured listings and do not trigger job alert emails to subscribers. It's designed for smaller operators or first-time employers who want to test the platform before committing to a paid plan.
Can I edit my listing after posting?
Yes — contact us and we'll update the listing at no extra charge during the active period.
Do pilots apply through bestpilotjobs or directly?
Directly. We send pilots to your careers page, contact email, or roadshow registration page. You receive all applications through your own channels — we are not a recruitment agency and take no commission.
What is the Apply URL and what should I enter?
The Apply URL is the web address (link) where pilots will be sent when they click "Apply now" on your job listing. It should be the direct link to your careers page, online application form, or the specific vacancy on your company website — for example:
https://www.airline.com/careers/apply. Pilots will be redirected directly to this page without going through bestpilotjobs. How do I select the aircraft type for my listing?
In the posting form, use the "Aircraft type" dropdown to choose the type your vacancy is for. The list covers all common commercial types — widebody, narrowbody, regional jets, turboprops, business jets, and more. Select the closest match to your requirement. If you are advertising for both captains and first officers on the same type, post two separate listings — one for each role.
What if my aircraft type is not on the list?
Select "Other — not listed" from the bottom of the dropdown. We will then add your aircraft type to the platform manually and update your listing before it goes live. You can also mention the type in your job description to ensure pilots searching by keyword can still find your vacancy.
What regions do you cover?
Browse all regions on the jobs page — listings are filterable by Europe, Middle East, Asia, Southeast Asia, South Asia, Central Asia, North America, Latin America, Africa, Oceania, and more. We cover worldwide.
Is there a refund policy?
Paid listings are non-refundable once published as the service is delivered immediately. Free listings that are declined are not charged. If there is a technical issue on our end, we will make it right.
