About the role

Breeze Airways is recruiting First Officers to fly the Airbus A220 in the United States. Successful candidates will support the Captain in safe and efficient flight operations, comply with FAA regulations and company procedures, and develop the technical and leadership skills needed for progression to Captain.

Duties and Responsibilities

Maintain thorough knowledge of the aircraft, systems, FAA regulations, company manuals, operating specifications and procedures.
Assist the Captain with flight planning using relevant weather information and company procedures.
Ensure personal qualifications, training, proficiency checks, medical certification and flight-and-duty limitations remain current.
Carry out duties assigned by the Captain during flight.
Apply sound risk assessment and mitigation throughout ground and flight operations.
Use Crew Resource Management (CRM), including assertive and respectful communication.
Maintain proficiency in aircraft systems, operating procedures and flight operations.
Develop technical and professional skills in preparation for upgrade to Captain.
Conduct appropriate pre-flight and post-flight inspections to support aircraft airworthiness.
Review departure, arrival and alternate weather, as applicable.
Assist with the handling of aircraft, passengers, baggage and cargo when other company personnel are unavailable.
Follow company conduct requirements and perform other assigned duties.

Requirements

Minimum age: 23 at the time of application
FAA ATP certificate, or Commercial Pilot Certificate with multi-engine and instrument ratings
Completed FAA ATP written examination if an ATP certificate is not held
Minimum 1,500 hours total flight time, excluding simulator and Flight Engineer time
Minimum flight experience:
750 hours fixed-wing
500 hours cross-country
250 hours fixed-wing PIC
100 hours night
75 hours instrument
50 hours actual multi-engine flight
Actively flying during two of the previous five years
Available to join a training class within six months of application
High school diploma or equivalent
Ability to meet the requirements for upgrade to Captain within a short period
Pilot training history maintained and disclosed in accordance with FAA Pilot Records Database (PRD) regulations
Current FAA First-Class Medical Certificate
Valid FCC Radiotelephone Operator’s Permit
Valid US driver’s licence and passport
Unrestricted ability to travel to and from the United States
US work authorization as defined by applicable law
Successful completion of a DOT pre-employment drug test, TSA fingerprint-based criminal history check and Breeze background checks
Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
