The First Officer is responsible for delivering great customer service, while ensuring safe and timely flight operations in accordance with all Company policies and Federal Aviation Regulations. The duties of the First Officer include, but are not limited to:

  • Ensures the safe and timely completion of flight operations in accordance with all Company policies and Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR).
  • Responsible for the operation of the aircraft during the designated period of duty unless relieved by Company authority. This involves weekend, holiday and night operations.
  • Through completion of appropriate pre and post-flight inspection, ensures the airworthy condition of assigned aircraft.
  • Becomes familiar with existing and forecast departure, arrival, and if applicable, alternate station weather prior to each flight.
  • Ensures that the flight is planned and fueled properly so that it may be conducted safely.
  • Assists with and ensures proper handling of aircraft, passenger, baggage, and cargo at terminal points and keeps an awareness of an on-time departure.
  • Notifies crew and passengers promptly of turbulence, adverse weather conditions or any other operational factors affecting the flight.
  • Ensures that the load manifest for a flight is reviewed and the passenger count is verified prior to each departure.

Requirements

  • 1,500 hours total flight time (2,500 hours preferred)
  • 750 hours multi-engine fixed wing (preferred)
  • 500 hours pilot in command (PIC) (preferred)
  • 500 hours jet/turboprop (preferred)
  • Current FAA Class 1 Medical Certificate
  • ATP Certificate
  • FCC Restricted Radio Operator's Permit
  • Valid US Passport, with machine readable print, and the ability to travel in and out of the United States or valid foreign passport with authorization to work in the United States.
  • Ability to travel in and out of all the cities/countries served by Frontier Airlines
  • Ability to relocate
  • Ability and willingness to work weekends, nights, holidays and overnight trips, including "red eyes."
  • Ability and desire to maintain a well-groomed and professional appearance
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug testing and background checks
  • Experience with sophisticated aircraft equipment including Electronic Flight Instrument Systems (EFIS) and Flight Management Systems (FMS) preferred
