PC-12 EMS First Officer – Ontario, Canada
Ornge is recruiting PC-12 EMS First Officers for permanent full-time positions within its Aviation department. Based in Sioux Lookout, Sudbury, Thunder Bay, or Timmins, Ontario, pilots support province-wide air ambulance and critical care transport operations across Ontario.

The PC-12 EMS First Officer is responsible for safe aircraft operation, crew and passenger safety, and compliance with Ornge policies and Standard Operating Procedures. Pilots operate in varying conditions and must be adaptable, professional, and capable of making effective decisions in a 24/7 emergency medical aviation environment.

Ornge aircraft are province-wide resources, and pilots may be required to provide operational support from bases other than their assigned home base when demand requires. All pilots must successfully complete the Ornge training program and pass a PPC/IFT check conducted by a Transport Canada Inspector or Approved Check Pilot.

Requirements

  • Transport Canada Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL)
  • Minimum 500 hours total flight experience
  • Group 1 or Group 3 IFR rating
  • Valid Category 1 Medical Certificate
  • Valid Canadian passport, or legal authorization to work in Canada with unrestricted travel to the USA
  • 500 hours PIC experience preferred
  • Successful criminal record search
  • Required immunization records and vaccinations
  • Ability to successfully complete Ornge pilot training
  • Ability to pass a Transport Canada Inspector or Approved Check Pilot PPC/IFT check
  • Ability to work day, afternoon and night shifts in a 24/7 operation
  • Ability to work weekends, statutory holidays and overtime
  • Ability to overnight away from the assigned home base when required
  • Live or relocate within close proximity to the assigned base
  • Residence must permit compliance with CARs rest requirements and arrival at the assigned base within 1 hour of callout when on-call
  • Ability to comply with respiratory protective equipment requirements, including clean-shaven requirements where necessary for an effective facial seal
